What is NCPD?

For my final internship before I graduate and become an OT, I am working at the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) located in Washington DC. The NCPD is a national Organization that provides resources and outreach to people with disabilities and their families throughout the Catholic Church in America. A dedicated staff works with a board of Directors and a national network of disability ministers to achieve their goal of "Full inclusion of persons with disabilities in the Church and in society". Some of the work that I will be doing at my internship includes participating in trainings on how to work for better inclusion of people with disabilities in the Church, interviewing diocesan directors across the country on their ministry, and interviewing OTs on how they are incorporating spirituality into their practice. I will be posting about my experiences here and I hope to share the insights gained through these wonderful learning experiences.
